Founding Story
The Angel Company was established in 1998 after being founded in 1997 in Salina, Kansas. Mischelle Smith is the founder of the company. Prior to founding The Angel Company, Mischelle demonstrated for a direct (www.mlmlegal.com) selling company that sold rubber stamps. At one particular workshop, Mischelle was asked if she was demonstrating for an “angel company”. Puzzled, Mischelle asked the guest what an “angel company” was.
Their website states that, “Angel company’ is an informal term that rubber stampers had created to identify companies that would allow the purchaser to use the stamp for personal use as well as profit. Most rubber stamp companies do not allow this, so this was an easy way for stampers to relay to one another who was an ‘angel’ and who was not.”
Mischelle’s company wasn’t an “angel company,” so the customer left the workshop stating that she only purchased stamps from “angel companies.” Mischelle soon left the company she was demonstrating for and three weeks later started The Angel Company.
